Is UI/UX designing a good career option in India and in terms of future perspective also?

Positive points:

  1. High demand and growth: UI/UX design is a growing field in India with many tech companies hiring designers. The demand for UI/UX designers is growing at over 20% per year in India.
  2. High pay potential: Experienced UI/UX designers are paid very well in India. Top designers can make over Rs. 15 lakhs per year. Pay scales are rising steadily along with the demand.
  3. Creative and challenging work: UI/UX design involves creative and engaging work like designing websites, mobile apps, software interfaces etc. This can be an interesting career path for those interested in design and technology.
  4. Future-proof skill: UI/UX design skills are future-proof as technology companies will always need designers to craft digital experiences. These skills can open up many new opportunities even as technology evolves.

Negative Points:

  • Constant learning required: Technology and design tools are constantly changing. UI/UX designers need to keep learning the latest skills and updating their knowledge to stay on top of trends. This constant upskilling can be demanding.
  • Job insecurity: While the demand for UI/UX designers is high, jobs are not always stable or secure. Project based work is common, resulting in lack of job security. There can be periods of unemployment between projects or if the economy slows down.
  • Competition from younger talent: There is an influx of fresh UI/UX designers in India from various design courses and bootcamps. This can drive wages downwards and make it more competitive for jobs, especially for those with less experience. Experienced designers also have to compete with younger talent providing cheaper options to companies.

So in summary, UI/UX design can be a very promising and rewarding career in India given the growth opportunities and compensation potential. However, We need to be passionate about design and keep developing your skills to excel in this field.
